Reyansh's PoV
Just as I stepped out of the class, lazily carrying my bag in one hand and scrolling through my phone with my headphones on, I saw her standing right outside the classroom.
Her eyes kept drifting between the corridor and the door, trying to look casual, but failing at it. I noticed the way she held her bag a little too tightly, and how she looked away whenever someone passed, only to return to the door again.
When her gaze finally landed on me, she paused for a second, like she needed to confirm it.
And then I saw it—the slight hesitation in her posture. Small, but enough to tell me she had been waiting for him.
Okayy.....Miss Perfect was here for me!!!
Let’s see what she has to say, I thought, and took off my headphones.
"Umm... hi.. my name is An-", she started.
"Ananya Sharma, right?" I cut her off.
Her eyes went wide like saucers. I can bet my life on the fact that she didn’t expect this from me. Well, not like I did either. But I just knew her.
"Uhh... yeah.... how do you kno-, never mind," she took out some colourful sheets from her handbag, rifled through some, and after focusing for what felt like hours, she said—
"4 pm, library on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, starting today."
"Starting what? Why would we start today? The semester has just begun and you are already talking about spending my evening in some boring library. NO WAY!"
Who on Earth was this woman to even order me around, huh? There is no way I am beginning with this tutor session today—actually, never—because I just don’t want to be tutored.
"Reyansh, this is the only time I can make myself free. If this doesn’t suit you, you can find someone else. I’d be more than happy."
Her tone stayed calm, but there was a quiet firmness in it—like she wasn’t really asking, just stating a fact.
"You really think I need tutoring? I’ll manage it."
"Your attendance alone is enough proof," she stated it with so much confidence that I was nearly convinced.
I had no response to that because she was right.
"You sound way too confident about this. You don’t even know me, Miss Planner."
She scrunched up her nose and her eyes narrowed at the new name I had just given her, and that almost… almost made my lips twitch.
"Don’t call me that, and Mr. Malhotra, I do not need to know you to teach you. The syllabus seems enough," she said simply.
I looked right into her eyes and expected her to shrink, but Miss Perfect seemed unfazed under my gaze. She stood her ground, and for a second, the teasing and stubbornness in my eyes faded.
She seemed serious about this, while I was anything but serious.
“Alright Ms. Ananya Sharma, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 pm it is.”
Saying this, I walked straight past her.
For a strange moment, even I didn’t understand why I had agreed so easily—why I’d let someone else set the terms for something I usually never bothered with.
And just as I reached the end of the corridor, I realised I hadn’t agreed because of the tutoring.
Funny thing about me saying “yes”—I never meant I’d actually show up.
Ananya Pov
I didn’t move even when he walked past me, back to scrolling his phone with his headphones on. To be honest, nothing about this conversation with him felt serious. He seemed just like a kid who would do anything except what their parents tell them to do.
I tightened my grip on the papers in my hand, exhaling slowly. His words still echoed in my head—lazy, careless, like the whole thing was just another joke to him.
Miss Planner.
I hated how easily that name stuck.
And worse… how it almost made me react.
Around me, the corridor went back to its usual noise, but I stayed still for a second longer than I should’ve.
He didn’t even look back.
That should’ve been my answer.
Still, as I finally turned away, one thought lingered stubbornly at the back of my mind—
He agreed too easily.
And somehow, I wasn’t sure if he’d actually show up.
I let out a small gasp, almost dropping the papers in my hand.
“Ishita! What is wrong with you?” I turned to glare at her, but she was already grinning like she had just caught me doing something suspicious.
“Oh please,” she said, narrowing her eyes at me. “Don’t ‘what is wrong with you’ me. You were standing here like a statue. Who were you waiting for?”
“No one,” I replied a little too quickly.
Her grin widened.
“Right. And I’m the class topper without studying.”
And suddenly she looked past me, and then back at me.
"Wasn’t that Reyansh Malhotra?" That caught my attention, and before I could explain—
"Ananya Sharma waiting outside the class for Reyansh Malhotra."
"Ohhh my goodness, this will be the talk of the college for days, Anu," she stated dramatically.
This woman is going to drive me mad one day.
"Ishu, there is nothing like that. It’s just that Mr. Mehra wants me to tutor Reyansh, that’s it," and I regretted saying this before I could even complete my sentence.
"WHATTTTT, SERIOUSLY??"
"Yeah, now stop exaggerating and let’s go for lunch. I am very hungry," I told her.
And believe me when I am saying this, I had to listen all about Reyansh the entire lunch hour.
Goodness, where am I stuck.
I knew agreeing to tutor him would be difficult—I just didn’t expect it to start like this.
